Overview
- First American Nuclear announced Tuesday that it will locate its headquarters, manufacturing facilities and an energy park in Indiana.
- The planned park will feature the company’s EAGL-1 small modular reactor, which FANCO says produces 240 megawatts per unit and could power up to 1.5 million homes with a typical six-reactor cluster.
- FANCO says the site is designed to operate a closed-fuel cycle that would reprocess and reuse spent nuclear fuel on location.
- Gov. Mike Braun said the investment would create 5,000 high-paying jobs and bolster Indiana’s role in clean, reliable nuclear power.
- FANCO plans partnerships with Indiana technical colleges and universities to develop tailored curricula, certifications and apprenticeships for a skilled workforce.
