Overview
- An anonymous Nintendo fan has created a widescreen Windows remake of the Game Boy classic The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which allows players to zoom out to view the entire Koholint Island.
- The game, titled Link’s Awakening DX HD, supports high frame rates and eliminates the original's screen transitions for a fluid camera pan.
- The game's zoom level can be adjusted to a 1:1, half or one-third pixel scale, allowing players to view as much as the entire island simultaneously, with each visible section fully activated and populated with enemies.
- The game is currently available for free on itch.io, but it is expected to be taken down soon due to Nintendo's history of shutting down copyright-infringing fan games.
- The fan-made game remains faithful to the original's gameplay and content, but offers a different experience with its high frame rate and widescreen support.
