• On June 24, Sonny Blundell, 18, suffered a severe head injury performing a backflip in his Southport apartment while celebrating a recent move from the Central Coast.
• He was found unresponsive the following morning and rushed to Queensland Hospital ICU, where he was placed in an induced coma and underwent emergency brain surgery.
• During the first 24 hours in hospital, Blundell endured multiple strokes and a brain bleed that required a surgical drain, according to family updates.
• Blundell passed away on June 30 despite medical efforts, with loved ones by his side.
• To date, the family’s GoFundMe page has received over 400 donations and raised more than A$23,000 to bring his body home and cover funeral expenses.
