Family Asks Court to Order Georadar Search at Graf Home in Coghlan Case

The filing follows forensic conclusions that parts of Diego Fernández Lima’s skeleton remain missing, possibly still buried at the Coghlan address.

Overview

  • The victim’s family, as querella, submitted a 10-point request that includes a georadar sweep of Avenida Congreso 3742 to look for additional remains identified as missing by the EAAF.
  • The filing also seeks an IMEI trace to identify the 911 caller who alerted authorities to the bone fragments, with a request to keep the person’s identity confidential for testimony.
  • Other measures include interviews with neighbors, a socio-environmental report on the Graf household, cadastral records and satellite imagery, complete property plans, verification of any past commercial activity nearby, retrieval of medianera posts and wire, and archival TV footage tied to the victim’s school.
  • The remains were discovered on May 20 during excavation under a shared wall and were later identified as those of the teen who vanished in 1984, with forensic signs of a stab wound and cuts consistent with attempted dismemberment alongside 1980s-era personal items.
  • With homicide likely time-barred, prosecutors continue to probe possible concealment as Cristian Graf denies involvement and his defense seeks dismissal of the case.
