Cooper had a decades-long career appearing in comedy clubs, opening for stars like Frank Sinatra, and making appearances on shows like Seinfeld and The Howard Stern Show
Though known for his outrage and for publicly insulting other stars, Cooper continued performing until 2012 and appeared in films like Analyze This and Analyze That.
Cooper wrote an autobiography called How Dare You Say How Dare Me! chronicling his long career.
He is survived by his wife, three children, sisters, and five grandchildren according to reports.
