Fallout: New Vegas Lead Writer Returns to Obsidian, Rules Out Sequel

John Gonzalez, known for his work on Fallout: New Vegas and Horizon Zero Dawn, has rejoined Obsidian Entertainment as Creative Director but confirmed he is not working on a New Vegas follow-up.

John Gonzalez, the lead writer of Fallout: New Vegas, announced his return to Obsidian Entertainment after 14 years, taking on the role of Creative Director.
Gonzalez clarified on LinkedIn that his new project at Obsidian is not a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas, despite fan speculation.
Obsidian is currently focused on its upcoming releases, including the fantasy RPG Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, both set to launch this year.
Gonzalez's prior work includes narrative leadership on Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, as well as contributions to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
While Gonzalez's return has reignited interest in the Fallout franchise, no new Fallout projects have been announced by Obsidian or Bethesda.
