Overview

  • Atlanta announced Koo’s release Friday, ending a seven-season run in which he became the franchise’s No. 3 all-time scorer with 700 points and a 2020 Pro Bowl nod.
  • Coach Raheem Morris said Parker Romo will kick Sunday against the Panthers after the team signed him to the 53-man roster on a reported two-year contract.
  • Romo went 5-for-5 on field goals, including a 54-yarder, and added an extra point in the Week 2 win at Minnesota after being elevated from the practice squad.
  • Koo was inactive for that game following a Week 1 miss from 44 yards that would have forced overtime and is coming off a 2024 season at 73.5% on field goals (25 of 34).
  • OverTheCap reports indicate the move carries about $1.25 million in dead money this year with roughly $4.25 million in cap savings, and Koo posted a public thank-you as he enters free agency.
