Overview
- Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated the bridge on October 3, with Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and GHMC officials in attendance.
- GHMC and South Central Railway delivered the ₹52.03 crore project built alongside the existing structure on the Secunderabad–Falaknuma line.
- The bridge measures 360 metres with four lanes and includes a 36‑metre three‑cell box culvert, a 12‑metre light‑vehicle underpass, at‑grade approaches and more than 200 metres of service roads.
- Officials say it will improve flow from Barkas Junction and Falaknuma depot toward Charminar and reduce delays around Global School and the railway station.
- Administrative sanction was issued in 2018 and work that began in 2021 faced delays tied to railway activity, utility shifting and land acquisition.
