Overview
- A retrial jury at Lewes Crown Court re-convicted Graham Head on June 19 of kidnapping, attempted rape and sexual assault after his 2023 verdict was overturned
- Prosecutors said the 68-year-old posed as an unofficial Uber driver in a silver Mercedes estate to target vulnerable and intoxicated young women
- He carried a “rape kit” of latex gloves, condoms, Viagra tablets and a balaclava that officers found in his car following a traffic stop
- One victim, aged 25, memorised part of his licence plate and was able to alert police but died days after her original conviction was quashed
- Families of both victims were supported by police units, the CPS, SOIT and ISVA services throughout the legal proceedings
