Fake Train Robbery Exposed: RPF Recovers Rs 1.82 Crore Jewellery, Arrests Four in 72 Hours

Investigators used CCTV, call records, digital tracking to expose a staged claim within 72 hours.

  • Technical analysis of CCTV, mobile CDRs, and digital trails showed the robbery was fabricated by Parekh with associates, who admitted inflicting injuries to bolster the story.
  • Acting on leads, Praveen Kumar arrived at RPF Post Khandwa on October 4 with the entire consignment, about 1.6 kg of ornaments, which was seized and documented.
  • Police arrested four—Parekh, Sanjay Kumar, Praveen Kumar, and Rakesh Jain—who were charged under Sections 3(5) and 309(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, with further proceedings underway.
