Overview

• Sagar Parekh reported a robbery on the Jabalpur–CSMT Garib Rath Express on September 30 at CSMT, alleging theft of 52 bangles and 35 rings worth Rs 1.82 crore.
• Jurisdiction checks shifted the case to GRP Post Khandwa, where it was re-registered on October 3 and a joint team was formed with RPF Bhusaval and the Crime Intelligence Branch.
• Technical analysis of CCTV, mobile CDRs, and digital trails showed the robbery was fabricated by Parekh with associates, who admitted inflicting injuries to bolster the story.
