- Chantel Brooks, 36, was last seen on surveillance video leaving a CVS parking lot in Fairfield on July 17 and earlier leaving her job in San Francisco that same night.
- Fairfield police announced on Aug. 18 that they now believe Brooks’ disappearance involves foul play and that the investigation remains active.
- Detectives have executed dozens of search warrants and coordinated multiple ground searches using Cal OES search-and-rescue resources along with extensive aerial drone grid searches while working with the Solano County district attorney’s office.
- Brooks’ black 2021 Infiniti QX50 (California plate 9SBB134) was recorded by a Flock automated license-plate reader in Oakland but has not been recovered; automated license-plate readers are roadside cameras that scan plates to help track vehicle locations.
