Fadnavis Flags Off NandedMumbai Vande Bharat as Service Begins Aug. 27–28

The extension from Jalna cuts the 610 km journey to about 9.5 hours, boosting capacity to 20 coaches with 1,440 seats.

Overview

  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the extension via video conference, with a formal ceremony held at Nanded station.
  • An inaugural special operated on August 26, departing Hazur Sahib Nanded at 11:20 and arriving at Mumbai CSMT at 21:55.
  • Regular runs start as trains 20705/20706, operating six days a week (no service on Wednesdays from Nanded and Thursdays from Mumbai).
  • Scheduled timings: 20705 departs Nanded at 05:00 and reaches CSMT at 14:25; 20706 leaves CSMT at 13:10 and arrives Nanded at 22:50.
  • The train covers 610 km in about 9h25–30m with eight stops—Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Manmad, Nashik Road, Kalyan, Thane and Dadar—using a 20-coach rake; full-journey fares are ₹1,610 (AC Chair Car) and ₹2,930 (Executive).
