Fadnavis Blames Pakistan for Delhi Red Fort Blast at 26/11 Commemoration

The Union government says the investigation is ongoing into the November 10 explosion that killed at least 15 people.

Overview

  • Speaking in Mumbai, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis accused Pakistan of orchestrating the car blast as part of a proxy-war strategy and claimed the plot aimed to strike cities across India.
  • Union home minister Amit Shah has not confirmed any cross-border role and said all aspects of the case are being probed and the perpetrators will be tracked down.
  • Fadnavis credited security agencies with seizing roughly 3,000 kg of RDX, saying the haul disrupted planned coordinated attacks including in Mumbai.
  • The chief minister cited 2025’s Operation SindoorIndia’s cross-border action after the Pahalgam attack—as evidence of a tougher security posture.
  • The remarks were made at a Gateway of India event organized by the Divyaj Foundation, where NIA chief Sadanand Date was felicitated, as tributes were paid ahead of the 26/11 anniversary.
