Overview
- Facer has begun rolling out a redesigned storefront on Android and iOS that uses a more colorful layout, top tabs and a personalized feed to make watch faces easier to find.
- The app now organizes faces into named categories including a personalized 'For You' home, 'Entertainment' for licensed franchises, 'Watch Brands', 'Health & Fitness', 'Sports', and a new 'Facer Originals' section.
- Facer announced new licensed partners such as Timex, Sonic and Angry Birds and said branded Timex faces like Marlin, Expedition and T80 will arrive this fall.
- The 'Facer Originals' program will spotlight vetted independent designers but requires applicants to keep their approved faces exclusive to Facer, giving creators higher placement while limiting other distribution options.
- The redesign builds on Facer’s earlier support for Google’s Watch Face Format, Wear OS 6 and RTOS watches and could change how users discover faces and how platform stores and watchmakers compete for branded content.
