Meta says the move will simplify publishing by merging video-sharing processes into a single streamlined format

Overview

  • Publishing tools for videos and Reels will be unified, giving creators a single workflow and expanded creative options
  • Reels on Facebook will no longer be bound by time or orientation, lifting the previous 90-second cap and vertical-only constraint
  • The platform’s Video tab will be renamed the Reels tab, with personalized recommendations remaining based on user interests
  • Users will be prompted to confirm or adjust their privacy settings when posting Reels, aligning them with their Feed audience controls
  • Meta plans a global rollout over the coming months, and existing video content will stay in place on profiles and Pages
