Overview

  • Meta will eliminate the distinction between video posts and reels on Facebook, automatically sharing all uploads as reels in the coming months.
  • Reels on Facebook will no longer have length or format restrictions and will include new creative tools through a simplified publishing flow.
  • The Video tab will be rebranded as Reels, consolidating all video discovery under a single tab.
  • Users will be prompted to confirm their audience settings as default privacy controls for Feed posts and reels are unified.
  • Existing video content uploaded before the change will remain unchanged on profiles and Pages throughout the rollout.
