Overview

  • Nashua Community College becomes the first New Hampshire and third Northeast institution to join the FAA’s Enhanced Air Traffic–Collegiate Training Initiative, marking the fifth new addition this year.
  • E-CTI partner schools use the FAA Academy’s curriculum and technology so graduates who pass the ATSA exam, meet medical and security standards, and complete performance verifications skip the basics course and head straight to facility training.
  • The FAA’s “Supercharge” hiring campaign drew over 10,000 applications and drove Academy enrollment to a record 550 students in July, reinforcing controller recruitment.
  • Program growth is designed to help close an estimated 3,000-controller staffing gap at air traffic facilities by diversifying and decentralizing training capacity beyond the Oklahoma City Academy.
  • FAA and DOT officials continue to invite colleges nationwide to join E-CTI as part of a broader strategy to build a reliable and distributed talent pipeline for future controllers.
