Overview

• The FAA approved a supplemental type certificate for installing SpaceX’s Starlink on United’s Boeing 737-800.
• United scheduled its first Starlink-equipped mainline flight for Oct. 15 from Newark Liberty International Airport.
• More than half of United’s regional fleet already has Starlink, with installations progressing at roughly 50 jets per month.
• United plans to extend Starlink to over 1,000 aircraft across more than 16 models, with each type requiring separate FAA certification.
• The service will be complimentary for MileagePlus members and offers low‑latency, high‑speed connectivity reported up to about 250 Mbps.
