F1 Confirms 2026 Sprint Calendar With Three New Hosts

F1 keeps the sprint format unchanged for 2026 to reduce strain during a sweeping rules change.

Overview

  • Scheduled sprint dates: Mar 13–15 Shanghai; May 1–3 Miami; May 22–24 Montréal; Jul 3–5 Silverstone; Aug 21–23 Zandvoort; Oct 9–11 Singapore.
  • Montréal, Zandvoort and Singapore will stage their first Sprints, and Silverstone returns for the first time since hosting the inaugural Sprint in 2021.
  • The weekend structure remains the same: practice then Sprint qualifying on Friday, Sprint and grand prix qualifying on Saturday, grand prix on Sunday.
  • The number of Sprints stays at six for 2026 to avoid adding workload during the introduction of new car and power‑unit regulations.
  • Interlagos, Spa, Austin and Qatar revert to conventional weekends in 2026, while talks continue about potentially adding more Sprints and exploring format tweaks such as reverse grids from 2027.
