F1 Academy Champion Marta Garcia Secures Fully Funded 2024 Formula Renault Eurocup Seat

Garcia will race against male contenders with top team Prema Racing in the European championship, funded by Pirelli, F1 Academy, the team and car maker Tatuus.

  • Marta Garcia, the inaugural F1 Academy champion, has secured a fully funded seat in the 2024 Formula Renault Eurocup, thanks to financial backing from F1 Academy, car manufacturer Tatuus, Prema Racing team, and F1 tyre supplier Pirelli.
  • The drive is seen as a significant step up, as the Formula Renault Eurocup series operates as a stepping stone between the Formula 4 and Formula 3 series.
  • As part of Prema Racing, Garcia will compete against up-and-coming male drivers. Prema Racing has a successful track record in motor racing, with previous champions in various categories including Charles Leclerc, Mick Schumacher, Lance Stroll, and Esteban Ocon.
  • From 2024, the FRECA series will allow teams to run a fourth car if they sign a driver who finishes first, second or third in the F1 Academy standings.
  • For its second season in 2024, the F1 Academy series has reduced the amount of money a driver has to invest from 150,000 to 100,000 euros in a bid to attract young talent.
