Express Inc. Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Plans to Close Over 100 Stores

The clothing retailer will shutter locations across more than 25 states and lay off 615 corporate employees in Ohio.

Express Inc. announced its bankruptcy filing earlier this week, leading to the closure of 95 Express stores and all UpWest stores.
The company's headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, may also close, impacting 615 jobs due to the restructuring efforts.
A total of 100 stores across various brands including Express and UpWest are set to close by June 30.
Sales at the affected stores began on April 23, following the bankruptcy announcement.
The potential sale of most of its stores is being negotiated with a group led by WHP Global.
