• Five of seven products paused this week share the same or a very similar base formula as Ultra Violette’s recalled Lean Screen, according to experts cited by the ABC.
• Brands pausing sales include Found My Skin, Outside Beauty & Skincare, Endota, Aspect Sun and Naked Sundays, which each described the moves as precautionary pending new test results.
• The ABC linked several paused products to manufacturer Wild Child Laboratories, which said its sunscreens met TGA requirements but has commissioned confirmatory testing at alternative accredited labs.
• Ultra Violette’s Lean Screen was previously withdrawn after Choice testing returned an SPF around 4, with a German retest producing a similar result.
• The TGA confirmed it is examining sunscreens with shared or similar formulation bases and is reviewing SPF testing requirements, including exploring in vitro methods due to known variability in ISO 24444 in vivo tests.
