Experimental Seamax Plane Crashes Onto Goiânia Home, Pilot Suffers Minor Injuries

The crash is now under a formal CENIPA investigation following emergency measures to contain a fuel leak.

  • Pilot Maurício Braga de Araújo, 71, exited conscious with minor injuries and was taken to HUGOL for evaluation.
  • A resident inside the property was evacuated without physical injuries as neighbors and firefighters responded.
  • Firefighters reported a ruptured fuel tank and isolated the area, removing ignition sources to avert fire or explosion.
  • CENIPA’s SERIPA VI team conducted initial on-site actions, and the pilot’s wife said a suspected engine failure occurred during the return from Jataí.
