Exit Polls Project Comfortable NDA Majority in Bihar

Pollsters cite a surge of women backing after cash transfers, with results due November 14.

Overview

  • Matrize’s exit poll of 66,087 respondents (Nov 6–11; ±3%) estimates the NDA at 147–167 seats on 48% vote, clearing the 122-seat majority mark.
  • The poll finds 65% of women supporting the NDA versus 27% for the Mahagathbandhan, with men at 52% to 36% in the NDA’s favor.
  • Regionally, the NDA leads in Angika, Bhojpur, Magadh and Mithilanchal, while the MGB holds a narrow edge in Seemanchal.
  • Multiple pollsters, including P-Marq, also forecast an NDA victory; Jan Suraaj is pegged near 5% vote and 0–2 seats, and AIMIM at 2–3 seats.
  • Analysts note the recent removal of about 65 lakh names from electoral rolls and turnout near 67% as reasons to read exit polls cautiously until the official count.
