The one-hour symbolic session marks the start of Vikram Samvat 2082, with exchanges outlining pre-open, modification and settlement specifics.

  • Both exchanges will allow post-close trade modifications until 2:55 pm, covering equities, derivatives, commodities, currencies and securities lending and borrowing.
  • Regular trading is open on Monday, Oct. 20, while Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 are holidays for normal sessions; trades from Oct. 20–21 will settle on Oct. 23.
  • This year’s session shifts to the afternoon rather than the usual evening slot, maintaining the event’s symbolic character and typically light volumes.
