- Jenks passed away on July 4 in Sintra after a public fight with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma, the White Sox announced.

- He disclosed his stomach cancer diagnosis in February and relocated with his wife and children to Portugal to be closer to her relatives during treatment.
- Over seven major league seasons, Jenks recorded 173 saves, posted a 3.53 ERA, earned All-Star nods in 2006 and 2007 and closed out the White Sox’s first title in 88 years.
- He is survived by his wife, Eleni Tzitzivacos, their two children, Zeno and Kate, and four children from a prior marriage: Cuma, Nolan, Rylan and Jackson.
