Overview
- Tokyo Metropolitan Police announced the Oct. 7 arrest of Yusuke Tanabe, 43, on suspicion of property damage linked to students' garments.
- Investigators allege he removed women's half-pants from campus lockers between November 2024 and July 2025 and applied bodily fluids.
- Police say he photographed the acts and posted images to an internet bulletin board after which a July tip prompted the investigation.
- Tanabe worked at Tsuda Juku University from 2009 until around summer 2025 and has admitted the conduct, while the university pledged full cooperation.
- Separately, Fukuoka police issued safety alerts this week over two unrelated incidents involving a high-schooler's umbrella being broken and an elementary school boy's backpack being grabbed.
