  • Nachan suffered a brain stroke in Tihar Jail on June 23 and was first admitted to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital before being transferred to Safdarjung Hospital for intensive care
  • The ATS has moved a production warrant before the Patiala House Special NIA Court in Delhi to secure his custody in the ongoing arms conspiracy case
  • He was arrested by the NIA in 2023 on charges of serving as the self-styled “Amir-e-Hind” of ISIS in India and orchestrating recruitment and radicalization efforts
  • Recent ATS raids in the Padgha and Borivali areas of Thane district recovered SIM cards, mobile handsets, edged weapons and terrorism-related documents linked to a suspected sleeper cell
  • Investigators have also detained his son, Shamil Nachan, in the ISIS Maharashtra terror module case as part of the broader crackdown
