Ex-Scotland Rugby Captain Stuart Hogg Sentenced to Non-Harassment Order

Stuart Hogg admitted to abusive behavior toward his estranged wife, Gillian Hogg, over a five-year period, including tracking her movements and sending distressing messages.
He has been fined £600, along with a £40 victim surcharge, and issued a five-year non-harassment order for breaching bail conditions by contacting his ex-wife in June 2024.
Sentencing for the domestic abuse charge has been postponed until January 9, 2025, as the court assesses the feasibility of imposing a remotely monitored community order while Hogg resides in France.
Court documents reveal a history of verbal abuse, excessive messaging, and controlling behavior, which led Mrs. Hogg to seek support from a domestic abuse service in 2023.
Hogg, who recently resumed his rugby career with French club Montpellier, is currently undergoing divorce proceedings while expecting a child with his new partner.
