Ex-Officer Found Guilty for Role in George Floyd’s Death

Tou Thao, a former Minneapolis police officer, was convicted of aiding and abetting manslaughter for his role in the killing of George Floyd.
Thao was the last of four officers charged in Floyd’s death to face trial and judgment.
Thao held back bystanders while his colleague Derek Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck for over nine minutes,leading to Floyd’s death.
Two other officers involved, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting manslaughter last year.
Chauvin was found guilty of murder and manslaughter last year and sentenced to over 22 years in prison.
