Ex-NFL Player Cierre Wood Sentenced to Life for Child's Death

Cierre Wood and Amy Taylor both pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and felony child abuse in the 2019 death of La'Rayah Davis.

Cierre Wood will serve at least 10 years before being eligible for parole on the murder charge.
The 5-year-old victim was subjected to severe physical punishment, including forced exercise and physical abuse.
An autopsy revealed La'Rayah Davis suffered multiple injuries, including 20 broken ribs and a lacerated liver.
Amy Taylor, the child's mother, received a similar sentence and admitted to contributing to the abuse.
Both defendants entered Alford pleas, admitting guilt while maintaining their innocence.
