  • William David Frattalone, 20, is charged in Hennepin County with felony theft tied to a July 4 duffel taken from a boat outside Maynard’s Restaurant on Lake Minnetonka.
  • The bag allegedly held a platinum Rolex valued at $228,000, about $25,000 in limited-edition clothing, up to $10,000 in cash, and other items, according to the complaint.
  • Restaurant staff say they stopped Frattalone from bringing a large bag inside and escorted him out, and the victim later reported a text in which Frattalone said his parents would write a check.
  • A search of Frattalone’s home recovered the duffel and much of the clothing, and investigators say his phone contained video from July 4 showing the docked boat area.
  • Frattalone was arrested Aug. 1 and released Aug. 4, was dismissed from the NDSU football team in early August, and is scheduled for a first court appearance on Sept. 11.
