Ex-House Cleaner Booked in Violent Sonoma Home Invasion Case

She is being held on $1 million bail on suspicion of elder abuse, robbery, kidnapping.

Norma Matamoros, 52, of Hidden Valley Lakes — who is a former house cleaner for the victims — was arrested on Oct. 1, the sheriff's office said.

  • Authorities say masked suspects forced their way into a Sonoma home on Sept. 12 at about 4:15 a.m., restrained three residents including two elderly people, threatened them, and struck one with a blunt object before fleeing with valuables.
  • Detectives arrested Hugo Matamoros-Acosta, 20, of Hidden Valley Lake, and Sincere Rush Tanner, 22, of Santa Rosa, at a casino in Middletown following the initial investigation.
  • A search warrant at the casino led detectives to a firearm in Tanner’s vehicle that they believe was used in the robbery.
  • Both men were booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of elder abuse, kidnapping, and robbery.
  • After further investigation, detectives identified former house cleaner Norma Matamoros, 52, the stepmother of Matamoros-Acosta, as a suspect and booked her on the same allegations, with bail set at $1 million.
