Overview
- Authorities say masked suspects forced their way into a Sonoma home on Sept. 12 at about 4:15 a.m., restrained three residents including two elderly people, threatened them, and struck one with a blunt object before fleeing with valuables.
- Detectives arrested Hugo Matamoros-Acosta, 20, of Hidden Valley Lake, and Sincere Rush Tanner, 22, of Santa Rosa, at a casino in Middletown following the initial investigation.
- A search warrant at the casino led detectives to a firearm in Tanner’s vehicle that they believe was used in the robbery.
- Both men were booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of elder abuse, kidnapping, and robbery.
- After further investigation, detectives identified former house cleaner Norma Matamoros, 52, the stepmother of Matamoros-Acosta, as a suspect and booked her on the same allegations, with bail set at $1 million.
