Ex-Dodgers Pitcher Julio Urías Escapes Felony Charges
Case handed to City Attorney’s office for misdemeanor considerations as MLB continues its own investigation
- Former Dodgers pitcher Julio Urías will not face felony charges following his arrest last September on suspicion of domestic violence.
- The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is handing over the case to the City Attorney’s office for “misdemeanor filing considerations.”
- Urías was arrested on Sept. 3 following an MLS match at BMO Stadium as LAFC hosted Inter Miami CF.
- Urías is a free agent, but questions remain if he’ll find another team. He had been expected to get a $200 million contract in free agency before the September incident.
- While Urías may have cleared some of his legal entanglements, there is still an MLB investigation that has to be conducted and it could hand down its own punishment if it’s determined he violated the league’s domestic violence policy.
