Ex-Detective Sentenced to 19 Years for Stealing £400k Cocaine from Police Stores

Andrew Talbot, a former Greater Manchester Police officer, was caught after dropping a bag of cocaine outside his daughter's school.

Andrew Talbot, 54, conspired with drug dealer Keith Bretherton to sell stolen cocaine worth nearly £400,000.
The investigation began in February 2020 when Talbot dropped a bag of cocaine outside his daughter's primary school.
Talbot was found with 26.8g of high-purity cocaine in his pocket and evidence of other stolen drugs in his car.
He was convicted of multiple charges, including supplying Class A drugs and misconduct in public office.
Bretherton, also involved in the conspiracy, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison.
