Ex-Bundeswehr Soldiers Convicted for Fellow Soldier's Mistreatment

Two former soldiers were found guilty of assaulting a comrade in a barracks after a night of drinking.

The incident occurred in January at a barracks in Bad Reichenhall, where the victim was bound with tape and left under a running shower with a sandbag over his head.
Motivated by the victim's intention to leave the Bundeswehr, the attackers claimed they wanted to teach him a 'lesson.'
A video of the incident, filmed by another soldier, led to the exposure of the abuse and subsequent legal action.
The two men, aged 20 and 21, were sentenced under juvenile law to fines of 800 and 1,000 euros, respectively.
Despite the involvement of multiple individuals, no further charges were brought against others present during the incident.
