Ex-Boyfriend Charged in Murder of Missing Bronx Woman Found in Suitcase

Her ex-boyfriend, Junior Perez Diaz, 46, has been charged with murder, manslaughter, and kidnapping in connection to her death.
Alcantara was last seen on Sunday in surveillance footage entering her Bronx apartment building but never reemerging.
Family members reported signs of a struggle in the apartment she shared with Diaz, from which she was in the process of moving out after ending their three-year relationship.
Police identified Diaz’s car near the crime scene using a license plate reader, leading to his arrest; he is awaiting arraignment as investigations continue.
