Eve's eVTOL Completes First Partial Transition Flight

Validation of rear-propulsion and flight-control integration clears the way for higher-speed radio-link trials ahead of ANAC certification.

  • Eve reported Monday that its eVTOL prototype performed the program’s first partial transition from vertical to horizontal flight by activating the rear propulsion system.
  • During the test at Embraer’s Gavião Peixoto facility the aircraft stayed airborne for 3 minutes 9 seconds, flew about 1,550 meters, reached 27 meters altitude and recorded a stabilized speed of 27 knots and a top speed of 30 knots.
  • The company says the result confirms a critical phase of the flight envelope and will support immediate next steps of data-link and radio-communications tests plus structural and load analyses.
  • Eve plans to expand speed testing toward operations of roughly 50 knots (about 92 km/h) in the coming weeks while continuing flight-test validation required for certification.
  • Commercial targets — serial production in Taubaté, roughly 3,000 pre-orders and deliveries planned for 2027 — remain contingent on successful completion of tests and approval by Brazil’s ANAC.
