Overview
- Everyone TV has confirmed a deal with French tech firm Netgem to produce its first standalone Freely streaming box, slated for release later in 2025.
- The compact HDMI device will let viewers access Freely’s live and on-demand service over Wi-Fi on any television without needing an aerial or subscription.
- At launch, Freely will offer over 40 live channels from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and others, with new exclusive channels promised before year-end.
- While pricing remains undisclosed, Everyone TV says the gadget will be “affordable” and positioned to compete with Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku and similar streaming sticks.
- The plug-and-stream device marks a key step in Everyone TV’s strategy to extend broadband-based viewing as the UK prepares to phase out terrestrial TV signals.
