Evergreen State College Student Dies in Suspected Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Two Others Hospitalized as Authorities Investigate Source of Leak

Jonathan Rodriguez, a 21-year-old student at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
Two other students and a police officer were hospitalized due to the incident. The officer and one student have since been released, while the other student remains hospitalized.
Authorities have brought in outside experts from a forensic engineering firm that specializes in carbon monoxide investigations to find the source of the leak.
Earlier on the day of the incident, an alarm company had responded to carbon monoxide alarms at the university, but it's unclear if these were in the same location as the suspected poisoning.
Students have expressed concerns about their safety and are demanding transparency from the school regarding the suspected leak.
