Overview
- Staff returned Sept. 22 to ready the building, with a Sept. 24 open house from 5–8 p.m. for families to walk through at their own pace with check-in and staggered times by grade.
- Students will reenter Sept. 25–26 for structured, non-instructional sessions (8:30–11 a.m.), followed by partial class days Sept. 29–30 (8:30 a.m.–noon).
- Mental health resources include support areas, therapy dogs, a wellness room, and trauma-trained staff, plus two parent sessions led by the National Mass Violence Center that will be recorded and shared.
- Security changes add a full-time school resource officer, Deputy Odie Tucker, four full-time campus supervisors, and continuous real-time video monitoring of mountain schools.
- Facility updates replaced select tile and carpet and covered door markings with large mascot posters, with new doors planned; two students remain hospitalized as the sheriff’s investigation continues.
