The pact positions Bahrain to build an advanced air mobility hub through sandbox testing, vertiport planning, workforce training, plus a 2028 launch target.

Overview

  • The agreement was announced at the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2025 between Eve Air Mobility and Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
  • The partners will establish a regulatory and operational sandbox, develop vertiport infrastructure, and prepare air traffic and ground-support systems for eVTOL operations.
  • Commercial flights are targeted for 2028 with international routes in 2029, subject to regulatory approvals, certification, and infrastructure readiness.
  • Eve is evaluating premium shuttle and tourist routes across Manama, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, and Istanbul.
  • The initiative prioritizes zero-emission, low-noise operations and includes workforce training, with aircraft features tailored for Gulf conditions such as UV/IR window protection, microclimate air conditioning, and a Lift + Cruise design to limit dust and sand exposure.
