Evacuation Orders Issued as Bushfires Threaten Grampians Region in Victoria

Residents in multiple towns are urged to leave immediately as out-of-control bushfires spread across the Grampians National Park and Little Desert National Park.

Emergency warnings have been issued for Glenisla, Mooralla, Rocklands, and Woohlpooer as bushfires in the Grampians National Park continue to spread unpredictably.
The Grampians fires have burned through private property, threatening areas near the Henty Highway, which remains closed between Cavendish and Horsham.
Authorities fear that two major fires in the northern and southern parts of the Grampians National Park could merge, potentially creating a large and dangerous fire front.
The Little Desert National Park fire, which has grown to 70,000 hectares, has already destroyed at least one home and a popular wedding venue, prompting additional evacuation alerts.
Firefighting crews, supported by helicopters and fire-bombing planes, are working to contain the fires ahead of forecasted hot weather expected in the coming days.
