Overview

• Ulkatcho First Nation and the Cariboo Regional District expanded mandatory evacuation orders for areas near Anahim Lake, Nimpo Lake and Charlotte Lake.
• Residents under order must leave immediately via Highway 20 east to Williams Lake and register at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex.
• The Beef Trail Creek wildfire north of Highway 20 was estimated at about 93 square kilometres after triggering an earlier evacuation north of Anahim Lake.
• The Dusty Lake wildfire to the southeast had grown to roughly 45 square kilometres as of Thursday night.
• A travel advisory remains in effect on Highway 20 from Anahim Lake west to Bella Coola due to smoke, and Environment Canada issued a special air quality statement for most of B.C.
