Evacuation of ICE Train in Germany After Suspicious Envelope Found

An ICE train traveling from Hannover to Göttingen was stopped in Elze after a suspicious DIN-A5 envelope was discovered on a toilet.
Approximately 450 passengers were evacuated from the train and waited for several hours while authorities investigated the situation.
The police, along with bomb disposal experts, examined the envelope and determined it posed no danger, giving the all-clear around 4:15 AM.
Evacuated passengers were temporarily accommodated in a nearby gymnasium, with shuttle services provided for restroom access due to limited facilities at the station.
Other train services in the area were rerouted during the investigation, and the ICE train resumed its journey around 5:00 AM.
