Eurostar Halts All Channel Tunnel Trains To and From London

The operator blames an overhead power fault in the tunnel following a Le Shuttle train failure.

Overview

  • At least six Tuesday afternoon departures were canceled, with other trains facing heavy delays.
  • Eurostar said it does not know when services will resume and declined to say how many passengers are affected.
  • Passengers were urged to postpone travel and told not to go to stations unless they already hold a ticket.
  • The disruption hits peak holiday routes to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Disneyland Paris and Alpine ski destinations.
  • Getlink, which operates the tunnel infrastructure and the Le Shuttle vehicle service, had not issued an immediate comment.
