Eugenie Bouchard to Retire at Montreal’s National Bank Open

Her final matches will cap a career spanning a Grand Slam breakthrough in 2014 followed by a move into professional pickleball.

  • Tennis Canada will grant Bouchard a main-draw wildcard for the WTA 1000 tournament beginning July 26.
  • In a farewell post on X, she wrote, “You’ll know when it’s time. For me, it’s now. Ending where it all started: Montreal.”
  • Bouchard rose to world No. 5 in 2014 and became the first Canadian woman in the Open era to reach a Grand Slam singles final at Wimbledon.
