Eugene Daniels Joins MSNBC as Senior Washington Correspondent and Weekend Co-Host

The former Politico journalist steps into a full-time role as MSNBC builds an independent Washington operation after its Comcast spinoff.

Eugene Daniels, previously a White House correspondent and Playbook co-author at Politico, has been named MSNBC's Senior Washington Correspondent.
Daniels will co-host the morning edition of 'The Weekend' alongside Jonathan Capehart and another host to be announced soon.
This marks MSNBC's first major hire as it transitions into an independent entity following its separation from NBC News under Comcast's spinoff plan.
Daniels has been a regular contributor to MSNBC since 2021 and is currently serving as president of the White House Correspondents' Association until his term ends this summer.
MSNBC is also reshuffling its programming, with new time slots for current 'The Weekend' hosts and expanded weekend coverage from Ali Velshi.
