EU Set to Approve Amazon's $1.4B Acquisition of iRobot

Amazon's $1.4 billion acquisition of iRobot, the maker of Roomba vacuum cleaners, is reportedly set to receive unconditional approval from the European Union's antitrust authorities.
The deal was initially announced in August 2022 for $1.7 billion, but the price was reduced to $1.4 billion in July 2023.
EU officials had expressed concerns about the deal potentially reducing competition in the robot vacuum cleaner market and reinforcing Amazon's dominance as an online marketplace provider.
The UK's Competition and Markets Authority already gave its approval to the deal in June 2023.
The official decision from the EU is expected by February 14, 2024.
