EU Aid to Palestinians Continues After Probe Finds No Diversion to Hamas

The European Union will continue to provide substantial financial aid to the Palestinians after a review found no money has been diverted to Hamas.
The review was initiated after Hamas attacked southern Israel, causing some EU nations to unilaterally suspend aid.
The EU is the world's biggest provider of assistance to the Palestinians, with almost 1.2 billion euros ($1.3 billion) earmarked for 2021-2024.
The investigation did not hold up any payments as no development funds have yet been committed for 2023.
Up to 75 million euros ($82 million) earmarked to build infrastructure cannot be used due to the fighting in Gaza.
